We have never before performed this masterpiece, for double choir and orchestra, in the splendid setting of Halifax Minster. Particularly at the start of Holy Week, this will be a very special occasion. The piece is rarely heard in English and this translation by John Longstaff (pictured above) and Andrew Greenan will hugely enhance the meaning of this sublime music for singers and audience alike.
